Beer Description
Tart wheat ale with a beautiful bouquet of berries, fruit and herbs. This beer is a ‘field blend’ of materials that tries to capture the flavor of these beautiful plants in a moment of time.
Gathered 2 is the second annual appearance of the series, which tries to capture the feeling of a time, 8.18.19, and place, Craftsbury, Vermont. All foraged materials for this edition, Sumac, Goldenrod, Chokecherry, Feral Apple were gathered from around my home on the same day. Then all the materials are added to the wheat beer base as it ages in a foudre. The result is a tart wheat ale with a beautiful bouquet of berries, fruit and herbs. I think of this beer as a ‘field blend’ of materials that tries to capture the flavor of these beautiful plants in a moment of time. It’s quite lovely and I hope you think so too.
