Beer Description

Beautifully complex saison that features notes of grilled pineapple, golden raisin, dates, slightly overripe banana, honeysuckle, and wisps of smoke. These bottles then had brettanomyces added during bottling.

Maestro Marcelino – Saison brewed with Roasted Agave Hearts and Bottle Conditioned with Brettanomyces – Collaboration with S.A.C.R.E.D. Agave and Banhez Mezcal

Everyone talks about mezcal like it’s magic. And much is. The magic starts with the sugar source: the agave. But the agave is just the prop. The magician is the maestro mezcalero, who coaxes flavors from the plant using pre-industrial techniques. The mezcalero in this case is Marcelino Martinez, who works his magic to make Banhez Mezcal. We borrowed some of that magic to craft this beautifully complex saison that features notes of grilled pineapple, golden raisin, dates, slightly overripe banana, honeysuckle, and wisps of smoke. These bottles then had brettanomyces added during bottling. A portion of sales will be donated to S.A.C.R.E.D. to replant agave.
