Word spread of our intent to craft a Czech dark lager, or Tmavy, a beautiful beer that falls somewhere between Munich Dunkel and Schwartzbier.

It is also sometimes called Bohemian Dunkel. Czech hops and lager yeast tie this beer to the old world styles of Austria, Germany, and the Czech Republic. A tiny taste of roast, a little sweet, and the undeniable spicy snap of Saaz hops. This beer, like so many European lagers, is a testament to a brewer’s ability to balance. Crafting a beer like this takes restraint; its delicate subtleties speak for itself.
