Imperial Stout aged in Uncle Nearest whiskey barrels. Nearest Green was the first known African-American master distiller. Known to his friends and family as Uncle Nearest.
Nearest Green was the first known African-American master distiller. Known to his friends and family as Uncle Nearest, he is credited with helping perfect the Lincoln County Process, the technique of filtering whiskey through Sugar Maple charcoal before aging. We celebrate Uncle Nearest’s contributions to history through this annual release of West Sixth Sugar Maple Stout, aged for 10 months in Uncle Nearest whiskey barrels. Look for notes of candied sugar and toasted oak atop this silky and smooth imperial stout.
