Beer Description
Our first foray into the new style of Cold IPA is brewed in remembrance of our beloved first delivery van – RIP. Cold IPA overlays modern WCIPA hopping techniques onto a light, crispy beer reminiscent of an American lager or even malt liquor. Cold fermentation and low protein adjuncts lighten the body, and contribute to the crisp drinkability, while generous hopping gives it a punch of flavor.
In So Long, Small Van jasmine rice creates a light, fluffiness to the mouthfeel, accentuating the intensity of the hop character. Cold fermentation minimizes ester production. At colder temperatures, I find our hops lean more towards citrusy, instead of tropical – especially Citra. Tangerine and lemon are abundant, along with a touch of ganja from the Stata, and black tea from Idaho 7.
