Beer Description
Oyster Kolsch-Style Ale
Ripples upon still water, silent and ceaseless. Growing and changing with the twists of the unseen. They sparkle with the mystery of generous reluctance. For this Kolsch we took a traditional malt base of pale German barley, boiled it with a blend of Saaz and Hersbrucker hops and added to the whirlpool the shells of 600 Slash Creek oysters grown by Katherine McGlade in Hatteras, NC that we procured with the help of Durham’s own Locals Seafood. Hand shucked by the Burial crew the morning of the brew these oyster shells impart complimentary flavors of brine and ocean sunrise to the traditional German kolsch notes of grassy and honey malt tones and herbal and spicy traditional hops.
