Fieldwork Enigma Juice

Enigma might be among the most pungent hops ever to grace this earth. With most hops, we’re usually trying to figure out how to get the most out of them, whereas with Enigma, we’re usually wondering how to tone it down with its ever-so-obvious Australian-ness. Like Strata, its raucous profile has the same ability to morph and change almost weekly from the days the flowers are picked, through processing, and even after they are in finished beer waiting to be drank. In a world where most hops are named with little correlation to their profile, Enigma might just be the most aptly named as this single-hop beer morphs back and forth between flavors of mixed red berries, black and red currant jam, super sweet papaya, pineapple wine, blueberry-mango smoothie, overripe navel oranges and an ever-present hint of obnoxiously sticky weed.
