About a month ago, our good friend Peter Hoey, the brewmaster at Urban Roots, escaped the
Sacramento heat and paid us a visit. Together we crafted a thirst quenching West Coast IPA
specifically designed to neutralize the effects of relentless sunshine and triple digit
temperatures. An initial dry hop of Citra and Mosaic was augmented by a secondary addition of
HBC 586, Riwaka and Cascade. Resinous citrus, a wisp of herbal dankness and a hint of pine
sap bring a grove of shade trees to mind. In their cool shadow, handfuls of snow peach, honey
crisp apple and cotton candy grapes wait to be devoured. Take a load off, relax, and feel the
cooling effects of each sip.
