Beer Description
Sunshine Over The Counter is a Petite Sour brewed in collaboration with the Northeast Organic Farming Association.
For this beer, we worked with NOFA to find ingredients grown by some of our friends in Vermont. In the fermenter, we utilized a component you may not be used to seeing in beer… carrots! These came from Jericho Settlers Farm in Jericho, VT. We also made use of locally grown ginger from the UVM Catamount Educational Farm, as well as turmeric.
Sunshine Over the Counter was fermented in stainless with our house yeast and a secondary fermentation courtesy of Brettanomyces Claussenii. The combination of these unique ingredients has created a one of a kind flavor profile in this beer. A slightly tart sour ale, we find notes reminiscent of a ginger sparkler on the nose, followed by a hint of pepper, and a subtle sweet carrot note on the finish.
A portion of proceeds from this beer will be go toward the NOFA farm share program which subsidizes CSA shares for low income vermonters.
