a hazy new zealand pale, rakau and nelson hops, well refined, light to drink, boldly dry hopped without being vegetal or harsh, this has all the intangibles, and was a lovely pour at the brewery, this place is way cool! a shade darker than straw, consistent haziness, frothy inch and a half of cream head, lasting and lacy. the aroma here is obviously southern hemisphere, green melon and its rind, preserved lemon, honeysuckle, kiwi fruit, green gooseberry, and white tea, fresh as can be, intense for a pale, but lighter than it looks on the grain side too, so it evens out a bit. it smells slightly more vibrant and tidy than it tastes, with a little hop haze weight to it, oily and with some unexpected bitterness for these varietals, but also all kinds of cool nuance as it warms up a little bit from coconut to key lime and lemongrass, its got a softness to the mouthfeel that i really like as well, and its airy and near effortless after my palate adjusts. the low alcohol with this level of hop potency is appreciated and rare, and its quite expansive on the palate. i think its a nice showcase of these special varietals overall, and is a clean for the style brew
