Beer Description
Pot Kettle Black takes inspiration from one of our favorite summer treats — a Brew Birds Cafe latte with their seasonal and house-made toasted coconut syrup. The 15-barrel batch was conditioned on 50 pounds of Counter Culture’s Perennial blend, a 60/40 mix of Bolivian Nueva Llusta and Colombian La Golondrina roasts. These whole beans, given straight contact with the stout, impart notes of dark chocolate, raisin, cherry, hazelnut, and milk chocolate. And then we ratcheted everything to 11 with 50 pounds of toasted coconut.
All of these flavors play out across the luxest grists. Pot Kettle Black rises up from a base of Epiphany’s supremely well-balanced Foundation two-row barley, with support from’s Fawcett’s classic Maris Otter and Murphy & Rude’s nutty Brown malt, plus some delightful additional wrinkles via six Epiphany and Murphy & Rude specialty grains.
