An imperial amber Belgian style ale. This beer was meant to be an enigma… something different and indescribable. Instead it became a metaphor. Just as King Leopold II entered the Congo in relative peace, his legacy turned to one of dominance and theft. Such are the fates of the delicate Belgian cherry and caramel tones that unite to stand up to the intense American hop infusion. It is truly a wonderful perversion of a classic Belgian style.
