Pale Lager x Sauvignon Blanc Hybrid collab with Slater Run Vineyards

In celebration of Virginia Wine Month in October, we are proud to partner with Slater Run Vineyards. Our Brewmaster’s sister-in-law happens to be the Operations Manager of this Upperville, VA located winery. A few rounds between family led to the idea of creating a Pale Lager x Sauvignon Blanc Hybrid…and Harvest Wind is the result!
The recipe starts with a backbone of Virginia Pilsner malt from Murphy & Rude, followed by fresh pressed Sauvignon Blanc grape must from Slater Run Vineyards. Additions of Nelson Sauvin hops amplify the Sauv Blanc character from the grapes. Then extended fermentation using a biotransformative lager yeast brings out the true character of the blend.
Prominent notes of grapefruit and passion fruit can be found on the palate. Bright and fruity, with clear characteristics of Sauvignon Blanc in the aroma and finish. We’ve done wet-hopped harvest beers in the past…this family fusion lets us do something new to celebrate the fall harvest season.
