This Imperial Stout is so rich and dark that it reminded us of this ominous term. Featuring flavors of coffee, chocolate and caramel with a warming boozy finish.
The Shades of Death was a term used in the 1700s to describe mountainous terrain that was saturated by subsurface water, but also so heavily overgrown with trees and brush that it was the blackness above rather than the moisture below that troubled the traveler. Local Forbes Trail landmark, Edmunds Swamp, was known as one of these treacherous areas.
This Imperial Stout is so rich and dark that it reminded us of this ominous term. Featuring flavors of coffee, chocolate and caramel with a warming boozy finish.
