Beer Description
Named after the famous French prison where Edmond Dantes was incarcerated in The Count of Monte Cristo, this relic of a style is revived in our most recent Brewers Series beer designed by packaging lead Ben Forrest. Castle Malting’s Chateau Cara Terra and the use of Belgian candi sugar release warm notes of caramel, biscuit, and a raisin-forward dark fruitiness, while Strisselspalt, Hallertau Mittelfruh and Tettnang hops offer a balanced backdrop of bitterness. A semi-dry finish rounds our Biere de Garde out, making you wish for a longer sentence with this “beer for keeping.”
