Wanting to recreate a traditionally popular midwest staple by adding more complexity and body, we decided that Rye was the simple solution. To amplify the toffee, caramel, and toasted breadiness of this style, rye adds spice with a little citrus kick. Up until now, this beer style has been struggling for a true definition and place among the new “hip” styles. This modified and modernized rendition will have everyone asking, “Did you get that in Sky Mall?”
