Beer Description

An American Pale Ale made with a total of 35% locally malted barley, and moderately hopped with Columbus, Cascade, and Chinook hops. This easy drinking well balanced pale ale has rich bready malt flavors and a slight bitterness that brings you back for more. This ale is named after the Pennhurst State School and Hospital located in Spring City, PA outside of the brewer’s hometown of Phoenixville. Opened in 1903 and closed in 1987, this state school offered a maze of buildings and underground tunnels to be explored.
