Beer Description
60 pounds of wet Simcoe hops + a splash of Wildflower honey + one batch of unfiltered and unfettered India Pale Lager = Wet Hop American Summer 2014. This year, we decided to go with a simple Pilsner base recipe to really let the beautiful hop character shine through and then ferment with a clean Czech Pilsner yeast for a crisp yet wonderfully complex and unconventional lager with big tropical fruit and melon notes and hints of fresh cut grass and spice. To bring out a full array of nuance, hops were added not only at the end of the boil but also directly to the fermenter where W.H.A.S. ’14 sat with full hop-contact during the entire lagering (aging) stage of conditioning.
