Beer Description

Emmett’s Weizenbock is a traditional German “change-of-season” beer. It is brewed using all imported German malt, hops and yeast to produce a beer full of authentic Bavarian character.
Similar to a Hefe-Weizen, Weizenbocks are unfiltered German wheat beers. The big difference comes in the form of much higher alcohol levels than that of the Hefe-weizen and also rather than having the predominant characters of bananas and cloves, the Weizenbock has very little to no banana aroma and only a slight clove accent. It is, on the other hand, full of dark rich fruit character. The hints of plum, currant, strawberry, vanilla and spices are phenols and esters. These are created by the yeast during fermentation and are controlled with temperature as to there volume and intensity.
The malt character is bready, with a very subtle, earthy wheat character. Hops are used sparingly in this beer to allow the intense fruitiness and warm malt character to shine through.
