The taste follows the aroma, w/ malts notable up front. You will notice more of the hop characteristics quickly, w/ citrus and pine and a strong hop bitterness.
The American Double (or Imperial) Red Ale is the “bigger brother” of the Red (or Amber) Ale. The style has an unmistakeable ruby red color. The aroma should has the expected strong malt profile with toasted notes, light fruity esters and semi-sweet notes of toffee. The style has a higher alcohol content, which is usually notable in both aroma and taste.
