Beer Description
While England held off Napoleon in the early 19th centruy, French imports stalled, and Britons turned to barley to make up for beverage short falls.
A robust “barley wine” ale was introduced to help them muddle through. Brewed with an ample malt backbone, we finish our Barleywine Ale in medium white oak. In a way, you can thank a short, ambitious Frenchman for this beer. Enjo at 50-55 degrees F with stilton, foie gras, fig and chevre tart, or fudge brownie with butterscotch sauce.
