About the brewery
The ancient royal town of Rakovník is located in the province of Central Bohemia 56 km west of Prague. It has a population of more than 16,000. The first record of the original market town is from the 13th century; Emperor Rudolph II granted it Royal Charter in 1588. Otta´s soap factory (later Rakona) added to the fame of the town throughout the 20th century, as well as ceramic works and a factory building motor bicycles. The most renowned sights of the region include castle Křivoklát, redoubt Krakovec, and château Lány, country residence of the President.
