About the brewery

Seven Clans Brewing is a majority-female indigenous owned company, with their inaugural taproom located at 66 Sweeten Creek Road (in the heart of Biltmore Village, south of Downtown Asheville), on the ancestrial homelands of the Cherokee, North Carolina. In keeping with the long tradition of women within indigenous cultures crafting fermented beverages, 7 Clans Brewing derives its name from the Seven Clans of the Cherokee. This essential societal structure is matrilineal, recognizing the inherent responsibility of women to lead their communities in times of war and peace. Cherokee women bring balance just as the clan system, each clan representing either an earthly or heavenly role, brings balance to the Cherokee way of life. 7 Clans Brewing is currently in NC state-wide distribution, with brewing production at their sister company, Frog Level Brewing, located in Waynesville North Carolina. Now that their new taproom in Asheville is open, they will be continuing on product development and strengthening their brand throughout Western North Carolina and beyond.
