About the brewery

In 1861, German immigrants Augustus Hoeveler and John Miller partnered together in Pittsburgh, Pa., to brew Iron City Beer. These two entrepreneurs no doubt had success in mind, but they never could have envisioned creating a beer that would become the flagship brand of the Pittsburgh Brewing Company and a 150-year regional institution. Iron City, I.C. Light, and the Pittsburgh Brewing Company family of beers are now brewed in nearby Latrobe, PA, but the company remains deeply rooted in the traditions and values that are unique to our city and its people. The Pittsburgh Brewing Company corporate headquarters are currently located at the old brewery on 34th Street and Liberty Avenue in Pittsburgh.
