About the brewery
The Hövels brewery is next to the Dortmunder Actien Brewery (DAB), one of the last remaining active breweries in the former “beer city” Dortmund. Produced there, the house is brand Hövels Original. The company is now a part of the Radeberger Group. In 1854 there eventually founded by Wilhelm von Hovel and the Gustav Thier brewery in its current form. Today’s recipe was first marketed in 1893, and the beer is brewed according to the manufacturer still in that same form.
