Shaw Wallace & Company Limited is a liquor manufacturer in India, headquartered in the Wallace House in Kolkata. It was established in year 1886.
It is involved in the production and sales of Indian Made Foreign Liquor. The two biggest brands of SWC are Royal Challenge Whisky and Director’s Special Whisky.
Shaw Wallace’s spirits division was acquired by United Spirits, a part of United Breweries, in mid-2005 for around Rs.1300 crore and its Breweries and beer business was acquired by SABMiller. Hence Royal Challenge Whisky is with United Spirits and Royal Challenge beer, which is mainly sold in the state of Andhra Pradesh, is with SABMiller.
