Spirit Description

A remarkable marriage of 100% aged malt whiskies, 100% from Islay finished in COgnac and Sherry casks.

Blend of Islay malts from the 1980s, no colouring or chill filtering.

Limited edition of 1500 bottles.

Big Peat is a marriage of Single Malt Scotch Whiskies only from the island of Islay. With Caol Ila spirit bringing sweetness, Bowmore the perfect balance, Ardbeg a medicinal, earthy quality and Port Ellen, a degree of elegance, Big Peat represents all that is Islay in a bottle. Part of the Remarkable Regional Malts range, the ultimate distillation of Scotland’s Malt Whisky Regions.

Nose: sweet smokiness, ripe plums, brown sugar followed by juicy peaches.

Palate: burst of phenls, red apples, leathery sweetness, smoky bacon and a meaty, malted character.

Finish: long with toasted almonds, warming spices and orange marmalade on nurnt buttered toast.
