About the winery

Starborough Story
New Zealand’s South Island is home to the stellar Marlborough growing region, producer of some of the world’s best Sauvignon Blanc. They have plenty of time to soak up the heady atmosphere of sunlit mountains, fleecy clouds and pure blue skies. The unhurried pace enables Starborough® wine to develop rich layers of character, so it can be as flavorful as it is crisp and refreshing.

Perhaps that’s why Starborough® Sauvignon Blanc stands out—the way in which it evokes the subtle flavor of New Zealand’s natural beauty. It’s a sophisticated taste that’s easy to like.

Marlborough Wine Growing Region
The Marlborough wine growing region, located off the Northern tip of the Southern island, first planted grapevines in 1973 and now more than two thirds of New Zealand’s Sauvignon Blanc vines are grown here. The hot summers, cool winters and fertile soils combined with longer, drier growing conditions help foster the gradual, even ripening of the grapes while also protecting them from disease. The resulting wines have stronger and more vibrant fruit flavors with crisp, balanced acidity levels.
