About the winery
Grand View Winery Owner, Phil Tonks, is finishing a year as President of the Vermont Grape and Wine Council. During his tenure he has supported those growing wine grapes in the state. Vermont now has approximately 40 acres of wine grapes. The new cold hardy varietals such as Marquette and Le Crescent have stood up to Vermont’s climate and are producing some great wines. As President of the Vermont Grape and Wine Council, Phil is thrilled that Vermont has won so many awards, including best in show for these cold hardy grapes.
