Wine Description
Syrah (58%), Merlot (33%) and Malbec. Its nose is plummy with ripe strawberry and vanilla, backed by sweet herbs of mint and horehound.
Napa Valley ex-pat Bill Murray focuses on Precept’s two expansive sites in the Horse Heaven Hills — The Benches, formerly known as Wallula, and namesake Canoe Ridge Vineyard — for this approachable blend of Syrah (58%), Merlot (33%) and Malbec. Its nose is plummy with ripe strawberry and vanilla, backed by sweet herbs of mint and horehound. Inside, it’s luscious and smooth with plum and Bing cherry. The tannin structure is on the lighter side of medium with a juicy blend of black currant and cranberry cocktail, which should serve as a pleasing foil with Italian-themed tomato dishes.
