2019’s coffee is a washed Kenyan AA roasted by Four Letter Word. It originates from the Embu region of Kenya in the foothills of Mt Kenya, grown by the Kibugu Cooperative society of small famers, and processed by the Gikirima wet mill. These small cooperatives of farmers utilize traditional methods of farming and supply training, mutual aid, and a financial safety net for their members. Having access to these resources allows them to focus on improving the quality of their crop and, as a result, some of the very best Kenyan coffees originate from these sorts of cooperatives. This Gikirima Kenyan AA lends notes of Black tea and Blackberry with a punchy, red wine acid profile.
