Beer Description
Each year, as part of the Oak Park Micro Brew Review, we and 20 other Illinois breweries brew the same base beer recipe with the option to somehow make it our own. This year, we were asked to brew an American Pale Ale with a single malt and single hop to show off some of the world’s most unique hop varieties. Our version of this SMASH beer is brewed with all pale ale malts and Strisselspalt hops. The result is a beer with a clean, soft, lightly sweetened malt backing that allows the Strisselspalt hops to shine by giving off big notes of lemon verbena, spicy florals, and citrus.
