Beer Description
For Gathering with Jester King II: Merlot, we began with a carbonic maceration of intact clusters of merlot grapes grown at Viviano Vineyards of Cutchogue, NY. The grapes spontaneously autofermented in their own juices before refermentation with Jester King’s exceptional blend of our own barrel aged sour ale. The result is a lush, magenta-hued beer that is bursting with big, juicy red fruit flavor and a soft tannic finish that we associate with Merlot wines. The abundant fruitiness and complex acidity pairs beautifully with the super funky barrel stock that comprises a healthy portion of the blend.
