Beer Description
Hops: Motueka, Simcoe, Centennial, Galaxy
Grains: 2-Row, Oats, Malted Wheat, Caramalt
Yeast: Kveik yeast, Metschnikowia Reukaufii, Expressive Blend
Description: This juice bomb of an IPA features Metschnikowia Reukaufii, a yeast cultivated from flowers in the hills of Berkeley that has the ability to enzymatically transform glycosides (found in hops) into new flavor active molecules. As “Metsch” ferments a small range of sugars, we paired it with our expressive house yeast blend to finish the beer. We paired these fermentors with a substantial dose of Motueka hops, and supporting doses of Galaxy, Simcoe and Centennial. The result is a beer that pops out of the glass with notes of cara cara orange juice, fruit cocktail juice, and a touch of passionfruit.
