Beer Description

German wheat & barley malts & fermented it w/ a popular Weizen yeast strain that gives off fruity & spicy notes. Light & fluffy w/ a spectacular pillowy head & alluring aromas & flavors of citrus, clove, vanilla, fresh white bread & green banana.

Qualität means “Quality” in German, something the Germans and us at Cellarmaker are always trying to improve. When it came time to name our first Hefeweizen, the term seemed like a perfect fit. We brewed Qualität with German wheat and barley malts and fermented it with a popular Weizen yeast strain that gives off fruity and spicy notes. Not quite traditional, but not far off, we did hop Qualität in the kettle with a little bit of New Zealand Motueka and Riwaka, two hops that have their parentage in the Saaz hop often used in and around Germany. The resulting brew is light and fluffy with a spectacular pillowy head and alluring aromas and flavors of citrus, clove, vanilla, freshly baked white bread and green banana.
