Beer Description
Dutch Black Ale with malted buckwheat.
After the Dutch immigration to Newfoundland, a regional Black Ale was conceived to emulate the black beers of England and Eastern Europe. Brewed with malted and flaked oat, black malt and a heaping portion of malted buckwheat. Dark in appearance, but light on the palate. Notes of English biscuits, freshly roasted espresso beans and a touch of caramelized wildflower honey. Hopped exclusively with HBC 472 and Mt. Hood for expressive notes of wood coconut, vanilla and pine. Fermented with one of our favorite, ultra-clean Farmhouse ale strains from Omega Yeast.
