Cellarmaker Built Fjord Tough

Built Fjord Tough is a West Coast IPA hopped singularly with our hand selected lots of Nectaron T90 and Cryo. We were fortunate enough this year that our selection at NZ hops was happening just as the last trucks of the season were rolling in, still loaded with the final cones of Nectaron from this year’s harvest. Along with the samples already pulled for our selection we were able to smell and dissect fresh handfuls right off the back of these trucks loaded with thousands of pounds of freshly baled cones. The incredible character we were getting that close to the source along with the sheer scale of the experience made it an easy decision to build a beer around this single hop. Expect waves of passionfruit and stonefruit up front, with a specifically over-ripe white nectarine note leading the way. Underneath is just a touch of open-plains grass and a subtle hint of diesel. Crisp, complex, and bright, this beer fully encapsulates the breadth of characters Nectaron can express.
