Simcoe Imperial IPA opens the Single Hop series from Danish brewer Mikkeller, made with one of Mikkeller’s favourite American hops.
Simcoe Imperial IPA opens the Single Hop series from Danish brewer Mikkeller; no prizes for guessing that it is made with one of Mikkeller’s favourite American hops.
When poured it broods a cloudy amber crowned with a thin, pale beige head.
Mild malt and heady hops fill the aroma with echoes of grapefruit, orange, pine and caramel.
When sampled this syrupy Imperial IPA reveals a long-lasting bitterness in successive layers of hops, citrus, caramel and pine needles.
